All Day Cookin'

Ever since I stopped participating in a cooking group that made freezer meals, I have been interested in doing my own freezer cooking. You see, we are a BUSY family! I leave the house during the weekdays at 6:30 and don't get home until about 5:45. By the time I get home, I am exhausted! The weekends are filled with church, usually a date night every other week, doing stuff around the house or with our family, laundry, house cleaning....get the picture?

I have been part of a website for quite sometime and have wanted to try it, but didn't get up the nerve to go fot it til a few weeks ago. I finally got tired of eating out all the time or constant "do it yourself" nights. Last week I looked at the website again and decided it was worth a try.
It's called Once A Month Mom and its FANTASTIC!

I spent about 3 hours shopping last night between Kingsoopers and Costco. (partly because I got a new Costco membership and was wandering around there eating samples for dinner and looking at all the cool stuff) Then the hubby and I got up pretty early today and started right in. I neglected to read the directions before hand, so missed out on the fact that a few things were supposed to be done the night before. That set us back a little, but we managed to still get it done.

SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS LATER....we had some great food stored away in our freezer for the upcoming month. Everything smells and looks wonderful!

The cool thing about Once A Month Mom is that EVERYTHING is laid out for you. And when I say everything....I mean EVERYTHING! You get your shopping  list, your recipes cards (which by the way are customizable for the size of your family), instructions and even labels for your finished meals.

I wanted to share with you all a few parts of our day

Just a few of the things we needed to complete all of these meals

Yep, I had a few of these today!

 Still lovin' the KitchenAid!

 Mini Egg & Ham cups

 Chili Verde

 Mini Sheperd's Pies

 Coffee Cake Muffins

Stir Fry Veggie & Rice Packets

 Easy Ranch Chicken

 Beef Vegetable Soup

 Beef Enchiladas

Taco Pasta

The items I forgot to take pictures of:
Bagel Pizzas
Mexican Chicken
Chicken & Broccoli Bake
Pizzadillas
Instant Oatmeal Packets

So, all in all, we ended up with 20 dinner meals, about 8 servings of 3 diffferent breakfast meals and 8 servings of 3 different lunch meals.

I can honestly say that overall, I am thrilled with how everything turned out. Not bad for 3 hours of shopping, 7 & 1/2 hours of cooking and $300. I look forward to having home cooked meals ready to pop in the oven.
I will definately do this again!
